-I'm all for helping people who are in need. But make no mistake, this Law has nothing to do with helping anyone in need, lowering costs of health care or keeping a regulatory finger on the Evil Insurance Companies (TM). No, this Bill, er Law, simply ensures that the government (that is Republicans and Dems) gets it's hands deeper into pockets in had already been in, and opens new pockets to boot. Follow the money. If it were about "helping" and "saving money", they would allow interstate competition between the insurance companies, and throw the doors of the Free Market wide open. Healthcare Reform is/was all about pulling more money into Washington, thus making you more dependent upon Washington, wrapped up in the guise of liberal Utopian society.- By the way, it's been a long time coming. Both parties have been chipping away at personal freedom for a while. Smart voters should not throw out the Dems in November, replace them with Republicans, and expect much difference. Smart voters are tired of the B.S. double speak. Smart voters want term limits. Smart voters want Representatives who have a vision and are capable of answering questions on a deeper level than talking points and sound bites. If it is a wholesale Dem for Repub exchange in November, don't be at all surprised if the Healthcare law doesn't get repealed...just tweaked, maybe. We have a unique opportunity to stop the cycle of professional talking heads tickling our ears with what we want to hear and then going about business as usual after elections. Throw a wrinkle in the 2-party system. Scare them. Vote 'em all out.
- Funny, Obama did exactly what he told us he was going to do. The Dems are who we thought they were. Shame on the American voter for being shocked and outraged when it happened. Shame on the Republicans for ignoring intelligent, well spoken leaders in the party and offering McCain/Palin as viable options in '08. Don't get fooled again. Do better in 2012.
- If Rick Perry becomes a candidate with real possibilities of gaining the nomination, for example, we have learned nothing. If he is the nominee, I've voted Republican for the last time.
- That's all I've got to say about that.
- I need office decorations. See?
-I've got the standard family pictures and stuff, Plus a large white board has been added (I don't communicate well without a white board. I should ad one to the living room, help clarify myself at home). I need a large something on the wall. I was thinking of a framed Texas Flag, or the Gonzales Flag to show off my Texasanistic Ways. (Note, I just now invented a word). Or even the Gadsden Flag, to scare away the liberals. It is a proven fact that the Gadsden Flag makes a liberal's eyes burn and they cannot look at it directly. There used to be an ad in the back of Texas Monthly that carried those items, but not anymore. Anyone know of a good place to find them?- I could also get some sort of artwork. No Thomas Kinkade though, unless it's this one:
- Along those same lines, I want to get V, Asher, and Em those T-shirts that have the Lone Star Flag and "Native" written below it. Again, there used to be an Ad in Texas Monthly....any hints as to where a guy can pick something like that up?
- FYI, Asher now prefers to be called "Ash".
- FYI, Asher..uhm...Ash doesn't like it when I refer to him simply as 'faux hawk'.
- "Ash" also doesn't like it when someone comments on his hair, and I tell them that he is destined to be a praise and worship leader.
- We are house hunting. Seems like a good time to purchase a piece of real estate in a bankrupt State.
- Realtors drive me nuts. I have friends who are Realtors. My Grandfather was one. But I got to tell you, if one day Emery tells me "Dad, I'm thinking of either working at Hooters or getting my Real Estate license", I'd be at a loss as how to advise her. Be forewarned, there is a rant coming soon.
- The entire left half of my NCAA bracket looks like a tornado swept thru. Thanks Vandy, G'town, Kansas. I was trying to impress the new co-workers with my braketability (2 words!), and it didn't work out too terribly well for me.
- The kid's start the 2-week spring break tomorrow.
- I took a 2 month winter break, and could still use some spring break.
- Thanks for the positive feedback on the last post. There is a follow-up that is being pieced together. But first, the Realtor Rant.
